Salam.
Finally! We have decided on a theme for NISE 2014. 'The Tawba of A Muslimah'. The theme not only means that you have to submit your entries and sing nasheed songs that send a message of tawba. We would like for you to also ponder and contemplate on the theme with your teammates (or with yourself if you're joining competitions other than nasheed). We hope that everybody could learn something by the end of NISE 2014. Tawba, means repentance. When we repent, we wash our hearts with tears, and our sins are forgiven, insya Allah. Sometimes, even when we commit sins, we don't feel like we've done anything wrong. Our hearts didn't cry out to us, 'Repent! Repent before it's too late!'. Instead, there are voices that told us, 'It's fine. You ain't gonna die today. You can pray later.' This is one of the signs that our hearts are dead. Or nearly. This is when our souls are rotting away because we start thinking that the sins we commit is not a big deal to us. "If your sins are no big deal to you, they are a big deal to Allah. And when your sins are a big deal to you, they are a small thing for Allah." Yes, Allah's Mercy is INFINITE. But that doesn't mean we could take advantage of it. We are only humble slaves. Do not take our sins lightly... The theme 'The Tawba of A Muslimah' reflects the strength that Allah has given to us to continuously seek for His forgiveness. To be istiqamah in tawba. When a muslimah repents, that is the moment when she shines the most, to Allah and to the people around her. Wallahu'alam. |
